Booking Procedure

1. Decide the period of your sailing holidays.
2. Contact us or fill up our request form to help you choose a yacht.
3. Confirm your booking of a specific yacht type for a specific period.
4. We will e-mail you the charter contract and all relevant boarding information.
5. You must sign the contract and mail us back. At the same time an advance payment of 20% of the charter price will be required to confirm your booking.
6. Booking is confirmed when we receive the signed contract and advance payment.
7. A further 30% of the total charter fee payment will be due 90 days before embarkation.
8. Balance payment of 50% will be due upon embarkation and prior to departure.

Payments
All payments should make by Visa, Mastercard credit cards. Alternatively can be wired to our bank account. The refundable guarantee deposit is payable upon embarkation by cash, or credit card. This deposit will be refunded on the safe and without damages or losses return of the yacht. This deposit apply only to bareboat charters, does not apply to skippered charters.

Qualifications
One qualified skipper must be on board. If no one of the crew has sailing experience we can provide you with a professional skipper.

Arrivals - Check in
On your arrival please go directly to our base where our staff will guide you through the necessary procedure to take over the yacht. Please go thoroughly through the yacht's inventory and familiarise yourself with the yacht's functionality and sailing performance. Golden Sails will take care of all necessary formalities at the beginning of your trip. Normally the yacht will be available 17.00 pm although we do every effort to deliver her to you earlier. In case that your arrival is earlier than boarding time, we recommend a drink at a bar or short visit in the town, while your luggage may remain safely on board or in our office.

Water - Fuel
Your yacht will be full with fuel and fresh water on delivery and she has to be redelivered in the same way. You can find water to refill your tanks on all islands for a small charge. Fresh water and power supply is free in our base. Fuel is available on most islands.

Return - Check out
We recommend you to let us know in advance your estimated time of arrival at the destination port in order to direct you to your birth and arrange a quick and relaxed check out. Remember that check out time is around 09.00 am and the yacht must be redelivered clean and full with fuel.

Transfer
We can arrange your transfer between the airport and the harbour for a small additional charge, although taxis are always available at the airport. On your return please let us know your departure time to arrange your taxi.

Provisioning
We can arrange your provisions so you will find everything on board upon your arrival. Please fill up our provisioning list and send it to us at least one week before embarkation. We recommend you to do so especially if your trip starts on Sunday when super markets are closed.

What to bring
Please bring with you your passports, original sailing certificate and your copy of the charter contract. We recommend light clothing during the summer like T-shirts, casual trousers and a warm sweater for the nights. Don't forget your swimming suits, hats and sunglasses and sun cream (no oil please!). Two pairs of soft boat shoes are recommended as well as water resistant jacket since foul weather gear is not provided. As storing space on board is limited we recommend you to use soft fabric bags instead of hard suitcases. You don't need to bring blankets, bed sheets, pillows, pillow cases and face towels. One set per week for each passenger will be provided.

Shopping
In Athens and main towns shops are open Monday to Friday 08.00 till 20.00 hours and Saturday 08.00 till 18.00 hours. However on most islands shops are open sometimes even till 22.00 hours and on Sunday. Souvenir shops are open all day, seven days a week. Some shops may close between 14.30 and 17.30 hours.

Banks - Echange
Banks are open Monday to Friday 08.00 to 14.30 hrs. (till 13.30 on Friday). There are banks in the main towns on nearly all of the islands. We recommend you to exchange money only through banks since rates in hotels, restaurants, supermarkets etc. are less. The Athens Airport Exchange offices are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Credit cards are accepted in most shops, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. in the main towns on the islands, but probably not accepted in small villages (have in mind when visiting remote spots!).
